Dr. Bruce Barton is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification, Surgery of the Hand.  He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons,  American Association of Hand Surgeons and The Johns Hopkins Medical and Surgical Association.   
With over 20 years of surgical experience, Dr. Bruce Barton is the founder of Body Spectrum Plastic Surgery Center of Lexington, Kentucky.  He is a native of New York and has practiced in the Commonwealth since 1992.  He graduated with honors from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.  His medical training began at The Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine followed by full training in general surgery at the University of Colorado in Denver.  He received his plastic surgery training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas and hand surgery fellowship at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

Dr. Barton was board certified in general surgery in 1986 and holds additional board certifications in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery.  Dr. Barton remained on active duty in the Air Force through Operation Desert Storm and was chief of surgery at Scott AFB Medical Center, Illinois.  He brought this leadership, experience and confidence with him when he entered private practice.  He has published articles in peer reviewed journals and presented his research work at national surgical meetings. 

Dr. Barton has a special interest in cosmetic surgery.  He stays current with the latest plastic surgical procedures such as CO2 and Erbium laser resurfacing, botox, restylane  and conventional procedures.  He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Johns Hopkins Medical and Surgical Association.
