Dr. Barton grew up around airplanes, his parents working for Pan American World Airways.
He was a rated pilot, himself, before college and an Air Force Scholarship allowed him to combine his medical career with aviation.
Dr. Barton remained on active duty in the Air Force through Operation Desert Storm and was chief of surgery at Scott AFB Medical Center, Illinois. He brought this leadership, experience and confidence with him when he entered private practice. He has published articles in peer reviewed medical journals, including the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)
and presented his research work at national surgical meetings.
